We have dozens of electronic gadgets in our homes: cameras, laptop, cell phones and music players. Almost all these run on AC adapters, the familiar black, chunky wall-plugs. If you lose them, you can get replacements. With a power strip, you can keep them organized. Use them wisely and you can trim your electric bill. take for “compaq presario m2100 ac adapter” example:

Multiple Use Adapters
Electronics stores sell adapters with switchable voltages and multiple plugs. They can replace dozens of different single-use types. If you rely on several gadgets that run on adapters, consider getting a switchable unit as a spare. Find the adapter with the largest current rating you can afford. An overrated adapter can power less demanding equipment safely, but an underrated one will run hot and probably fail.
Power Strips
Its odd, blocky shape means an adapter will take up too much room on a regular power strip. Some power strips feature extra space for power strips. Widely available, you should have no trouble finding one at a music shop. Musicians’ electronic boxes are largely powered by AC adapters.
Another item, the Power Strip Liberator, is a short AC cord that plugs into your power strip. It accepts an AC adapter on the other end. Its slim plug fits a socket on a conventional strip, keeping other sockets available.
Some power strips have built-in surge protection. This keeps severe voltage variations in the household AC power from harming your equipment. Power surges can damage all kinds of equipment, including adapters. Spending the extra money on this feature is worth it.
Specifications
AC adapters (Toshiba PA3283U-1ACA AC Adapter–$25.99 )come in hundreds of sizes, shapes and ratings, but three factors count most.
Voltage: Adapters typically provide between 3 and 24 volts.
Current rating: Electronic items typically consume between 100 and 3,000 milliamps. The adapter provided with the electronic item will deliver enough current, but no more,
Plug type and polarity (the plug that goes into the gadget, not the wall): Most adapters have two-conductor plugs, some have three. You can have an adapter with the right voltage and current, but if the plug’s wrong, you’re stuck. Polarity also varies among different models; some have a positive internal pin with a negative outside, some have it the other way around. A multi-use adapter allows you to switch polarity, so it will work with the widest range of equipment.
Unplugged
AC adapters consume current even when they’re not powering anything. If you touch one that’s plugged in, it will be warm. To save energy and money, unplug the adapter when it’s not in use. If you are recharging your cell phone, note when it’s full, so you don’t waste anymore power than necessary.
Testing
If you have a piece of equipment that’s working poorly, the cause might be its AC adapter. You can check the voltage and polarity easily with a handheld multimeter. If you’re lucky enough to have an oscilloscope, use it to test the adapter. Look for excessive ripple (bad capacitors) or lack of DC offset (bad diodes). If you find anything amiss with the adapter, simply replace it with an equivalent.
Education is the key for a successful career, which is why it is the primary responsibility of all parents to send their children to school. Although education is a necessity, not all parents are able to fund their children schooling. Others usually stop after they graduate from high school.
This is truly happening in almost any part of the world, and according to statistics, the number is increasing year after year. And this is probably why the government and other private organizations are looking for ways to give scholarships to capable students with limited financial resources.
Students are not alike; in fact, each individual has his/her own distinct characteristic and talent. Some students have talents in the arts, dancing, singing, and music. Now, there are scholarships for particular fields of interest. And if you do love music very much, there are a lot of scholarships for college music.
Music is very popular, and many students are becoming interested in this certain area. Although some parents may not like their children to pursue a career in music (because what they want is a more stable career), students have a choice.
Here is a list of some of the music scholarships available for students:
1.Vocal scholarship from Bel Canto; this foundation awards over $15,000 to opera singers with ages ranging from 20-37 who want to pursue an opera career in America
2.John Lennon program for BMI scholarship; this is a scholarship awarded to songwriters who are able to write original compositions. But you can only take advantage of this scholarship if you are invited
3.Scholarship award by String Magazine; this is open for students who are currently in undergraduate program; the award is usually based on academic merit, community service and financial need.
4.FAME also awards college scholarships for students who are nominated for professional achievement for senior college students.
The internet can provide you with a wide range of music scholarship resources. There are different websites which you can visit, and once you’re in their site, see what requirements are needed in order to qualify for the scholarship.
Almost any big university offers a form of scholarship, check with their registrar for scholarship information. There are universities in your local area, take time to visit them. It would be best if you make a list of the different college scholarships awarded to students with interest in music.
Music is a field of interest which only very few individuals take interest. So if you’re one of the few people struggling to get a college degree in music, begin your search for the scholarship. If you think, you can pass the required qualifications, go and take the chance.
Like any other student dreaming of a life in college, you should not be discouraged by the difficulty that you’re now facing. People have problems, and that can’t be avoided.
Financial constraints are not enough to stop you from getting that college education. Choose the best option available for you. This is your way to a dazzling career in the near future.
You are a gifted individual. Share your talent with other people, and show them your love for music. And who knows, you might just be the one that the music industry is waiting for all these years.
Tickets for the 2011 CMA Music Festival in Nashville are now on sale. Tickets sold out for 2010 in advance, and 2011 is the 40th anniversary. It is no wonder that this is The World’s Biggest Country Music Festival! The event is being held at LP Field in Nashville Tennessee in the heart of music city – over 4 days. There are both daily and nightly concerts from beginning to end. Four day passes are available, but you can also buy tickets for individual dates:
Thursday June 9, 2011
Friday June 10, 2011
Saturday June 11, 2011
Sunday June 12, 2011
Every year, the event is aired on network television, this year the 2010 event will be on ABC-TV, hosted by Tim McGraw. Back in 1972 the festival was called Fan Fair. It was moved to the Tennessee State Fairgrounds in 1982, and in 2001 to downtown Nashville. The ABC-TV prime time special for the CMA Music Festival began in 2004, originally in a 2 hour format, and it 2009 expanded to a 3 hour show.
The CMA Music Festival is no stranger to big name country music artists. The 2011 artists to perform haven’t been announced yet, but in 2010 the following groups appeared:
Keith Urban, Zac Brown Band, Darius Rucker, Billy Currington, Dierks Bentley, Lady Antebellum, Jason Aldean, Trace Adkins, Alan Jackson, Jamey Johnson, Kellie Pickler, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, and Kid Rock.
The addition of Kid Rock this year was a surprise to many, but the outlaw rocker was welcomed with open arms by the crowd – as if he was one of their own. With references to Waylon Jennings, and songs that have roots deep in Southern rock, country music fans were right at home with his performance.
At the CMA Music Festival you can watch your favorite top name country acts perform in both daily and nightly concerts, and you will also find autograph signings and special events each and every day! The spirit of the old days of Fan Fair are surely still alive, these concerts are definitely structured for the fans. This is the crown jewel of country music shows! More than 65,000 fans were in attendance in 2010 from all over the world, and more than half of the proceeds go to charity. The CMA Music Festival is unique because the artists donate their performances as well. Proceeds are donated to the Nashville public schools and the Keep the Music Playing program.
If you intend on getting tickets for CMA Music Festival 2011, you should buy them before they are sold out!
